Tracked to Pro Tools and Digital Performer, and all elements except vocals were initially recorded simultaneously in one live room to keep all the energy of this punk-rock band, isolating each instrument purely with Gobo’s. We then added vocals, harmonies and percussion, and did fixes to the live parts track by track.

Sam Mercer did this voice-over part to a midi backing track in Digital Performer. She really wanted a personal tone to her voice on this track, as it was a gift for her father, so we worked together to make the vocal particularly warm.

Derek Jones brought in beats for this hip-hop track, and I set out to integrate his vocals to the existing sound. He also wanted low-end punch in the finished track which I added in both the mix with Waves C1 compression, and then in the mastering process with the L2 Ultramaximizer.
